Who, What, Why?
I’m a forty something guy who found Freedom from slavery with investments that pay me a (mostly) passive income year after year.
I have no accounting degree and had almost zero interest in money until I became tired of doing things that I didn’t want to do and missing out on opportunities that I really wanted to pursue.
I realized that this thing called money was being used to control the population. We were being forced to live in survival mode rather than creation mode.
The majority of our lives are taken up with base, menial, survival activities simply to keep the lights on and put food on the table. If we’re obedient, work hard and save for fifty years we can then have a little taste of freedom.
To me that sounds like a life of slavery, followed by a few bread crumbs thrown at you when you’re nearly dead.
And this is in the so called advanced democratic western countries. So don’t expect any better in the poorer developing countries.
There HAS to be a Better Way
None of my background helped me. I had no role models. No rich uncle or millionaire friends to ask about this money thing.
The only money advice I can remember from my dad was something along the lines of money burning a hole in his pocket. He never let money sit in his pocket for too long. The more he had the more he spent.
Being a creative person didn’t help either as numbers are like foreign objects to me.
I have always had a great love of reading and learning though.
Once I had hit rock bottom and decided that I wasn’t going to take this crap anymore, I started reading everything on money.
I was reading up to five money books per month at one point as I had lots of catching up to do.
AND.. I had a burning obsession.. I wanted to be a free man.. or at least as free as it is possible to be in this constructed reality that feels it needs to have complete control in order to exist.
With hard work, a bit of luck, plenty of sacrifice, lots of knowledge, a more positive mindset, and about ten years I achieved a basic level of Freedom.
It’s a frugal existence but I’m happy and I’m still growing my passive income each year.
So I’m not driving sports cars and I still don’t own my own home, but I can pay the bills and put food on the table with my investments in stocks and one rental property.
I see this as the start of being human. Everything before this level of wealth is just a struggle for survival. If you’re forced to work 5 or 6 days per week just to survive then you’re less than human. There are very few exceptions.
It’s only when we have choices that we can start to live and evolve as functioning human beings.
Why the Money Blog?
Well duh! I want to share what I have learned along the way. I want others to find Freedom too. I feel like I have discovered the most magical thing in the world and want to tell as many people as is humanly possible about it.
I’m also not done learning either.
And I’m only at first base. I have no desire to be a billionaire but I do want to own my dream home and increase my passive income by at least ten. It’s always better to have more than absolutely necessary as there will always be roadblocks and obstacles along the freedom path.
Thanks for being here.
